I knew this would be a perfect time to dust off my old printer, see if it still works, and even begin some illuminated letter practice! The good news is that the printer does turn on! the bad news is that I will need to purchase some new cartridges before I can print those letter practice sheets. That said, I did make some use out of old Epson. Taking a few older paintings of mine, I sandwiched them into the scanner, shoved in my thumb drive, and let her rip with the highest resolution she could! Welcome to Latinferni!

Dearest Reader, Welcome to Latinferni! This post will explain what this page is all about, and also a bit about me, the creator! The Mission: To glorify Christ the King: through meditations on His teachings, free devotional articles and pamphlets (which will be completely free to copy and use offline), and reflections on how we can serve Him above and below the current "veil of order" (which I will explain in further detail): all placed tastefully in a garden of liturgical artwork drawn by yours truly.  As far as content development, the goal (for now) will be to post at least one scripture article per week, a current events article once every couple weeks, and a new prayer pamphet/resource once a month. Discovering Illumination

 Dearest Reader, After my last post, I went online looking for different artists/videos showing how to make more fancy floral embellishments for my pages. Happily, I stumbled upon this term, Illumination, which is the styling of books in the medieval, monastic aesthetic. That little keyword unlocked a whole new world of artistry for me! For, unlike liturgical typesetting, there are numerous resources online I can draw from to work on my drawing skills. One book I found in the public domain online recommended I simply copy other artist's work, and over time I can develop my taste to develop my unique designs. So that's what I'm doing now: practicing with fancy drop-cap letters based on designs from other artists!
