Welcome to Latinferni!

Dearest Reader,

Welcome to Latinferni! This post will explain what this page is all about, and also a bit about me, the creator!

The Mission:

To glorify Christ the King: through meditations on His teachings, free devotional articles and pamphlets (which will be completely free to copy and use offline), and reflections on how we can serve Him above and below the current "veil of order" (which I will explain in further detail): all placed tastefully in a garden of liturgical artwork drawn by yours truly.
As far as content development, the goal (for now) will be to post at least one scripture article per week, a current events article once every couple weeks, and a new prayer pamphet/resource once a month.

Why the name "Latinferni"?

Latin

In the Traditional Latin Mass, (alongside the other Roman Sacraments), Latin is the language of love that the priests, laymen, theologians and mystics have offered to God for nearly two millennium. If we want to find true holiness and beauty to our inner lives, growing ever-closer to Jesus and the Saints: reviving the Latin tradition of worship and prayer will play a crucial role in our recovery from the lukewarmness and vulgarity of modern living.

Inferni

Conjoined to this word of sacred, mystical order is the Latin word for fire, chaos, and "outer darkness": Hell (see Mk 8:12). While "Memento Mori" (remember death) is a good saying on its own, we must also remember Hell. Unless we are in a state of Sanctifying Grace, our souls deserve, and will be sentenced to, an eternal damnation of unimaginable suffering. Christ says as much to us: "The Son of man shall send his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all scandals, and them that work iniquity. And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Mt. 13:41-42, DRB).

Each and every man, since the Incarnation, totters on the line between heaven and hell, eternal life or eternal death, and no one knows at what hour they will die. Our nature is fallen, and we are all too eager to indulge in sin when we forget Who we are made for. That said, we can by grace assent in faith to the love of our Lord, through assistance of His Mother, Our Lady, and of all the saints. We can and will fall on the way to our self-crucifixion, but these challenges will all be glorified in us if we hold fast to this love, assistance, and holy protection.

On the edge of Holiness and Hell, let us lean in all the more to the holiness of God, transmitted so graciously to us in the Roman Catholic Church. Amen!

Who in the Inferno am I?

My name is Andy, I am 24 and a 2020 convert to the faith. I currently live in Montana. This project is my brainchild! I don't like my current career path, and this is a part of my plan to do something I truly love: create beauty for God!

My first goal is to create, based on these smaller works on the feed, a larger labor of love: an all-in-one prayerbook/devotional for the Catholic layman. This will be my love-letter to the Church! While the concept is mostly fleshed out for The Warrior's Prayerbook, I still have a lot more footwork in the editing, compiling, illustrating, and typesetting departments. Those developments will be released and teased, section by section, in the coming devotional booklets.

Other projects I have include mass-printing Douay-Rheims Bibles (that even the Gideon Society would be put to shame), Several other devotional books, and a scripture commentary. I'll give a forecast for these as needed.

Again, thank you for your interest in my work to create beauty in Catholic devotionals! May God help us all to be a more beautiful mess for Him!

Sincerely,

Andy, the Wyoming Papist
